Yes, this is possible until 21 days before scheduled departure of the booking. There are costs involved. For changes to the booking which also affect the booked flights, the costs are €100 per person for bookings to a European destination and €230 per person for bookings to an intercontinental destination. A reduced rate applies for babies up to 2 years old (without their own seat during the flight) and children between 2 and 12 years old. If the price of your new booking is higher, you will have to pay the difference.
For changes to the booking in which the destination (including all package elements) or both the outbound and return flight are changed, the initial booking will be cancelled and you will receive a voucher with the value of the initial booking (after deduction of the change costs, the SGR contribution and any payment costs) to book a new trip.
For changes to the booking that do not involve the booked flights, an administration fee of €35 per person applies. In addition, if the price of your new booking is higher, you will have to pay the difference.
It is possible that you have made a KLM Holidays booking and that you are no longer able to make this trip. In that case, you have the option to cancel your booking. There are costs involved. The amount of these costs is a percentage of the total travel sum and depends on the timing at which you cancel your booking. The closer to your departure, the higher the cost. We charge the following costs:
Days until departure | Percentage of the travel sum |
Up to 22 days | 50% |
21 to 15 days | 70% |
14 to 8 days | 85% |
7 to departure day | 100% |
The travel price is defined as the price published by the organizer, excluding SGR contribution, booking costs, payment costs (if applicable) and Cancellation insurance (if booked via KLM Holidays).
It is not possible to cancel just one element of your KLM Holidays booking. In the event of cancellation, all elements of the KLM Holidays booking will be cancelled.
Everybody wants to book their holidays confident and without any risks. If you book your holidays with a travel organization that is associated with the SGR, you’re guaranteed of extra certainty. The SGR covers the cost if the travel organization of your booking is facing financial difficulties. In this case, you do not lose the money of your booking, but the SGR makes sure that your costs are covered. We will charge a contribution of € 5 per person for this. The amount of your SGR contribution will show during the booking process of KLM Holidays.
Your safety is our top priority. We strive to let our passengers feel safe and comfortable not only during their flight, but also during their holidays. A packaged trip of KLM Holidays gives you automatically the guarantee of repatriation in case of a calamity. Together we discuss the correct safety approach based on the available information and the circumstances at your destination. It is possible that you can proceed your holidays with the necessary safety measures, but in case you are forced to leave immediately, we take care of this. Note: the guarantee for repatriation is only applicable to a KLM Holidays package trip. This does not apply by definition to regular tickets.
The following insurances are included in the price of a KLM Holiday that includes car rental:
• Unlimited mileage;
• Extra third-party cover of € 7.5 million;
• Damage insurance (CDW);
• Theft insurance (TP);
• Repayment of own risk;
• Insurance for glass, tire, chassis and paint damage.
You do not have to take any extra insurance on site. The main booker of the trip is also the main driver of the rental car and should be between 25 and 65 years of age.
